Nervous, neurodivergent, or needle-phobic?
Electrolysis does not use needles; it uses a fine probe. The difference matters, and we take the time to explain it.
A probe is not
a needle.
The word 'needle' is sometimes used informally to describe the electrolysis probe, but it is clinically inaccurate and, for many people, unnecessarily alarming. At Eve Electrolysis, we use the correct term: probe.
A Needle
- Has a sharp, pointed tip
- Is hollow, designed to inject or withdraw fluid
- Pierces the skin
- Used in injections and blood tests
An Electrolysis Probe
- Has a rounded, blunt tip, not sharp
- Is solid, not hollow
- Glides into the natural opening of the follicle
- Does not pierce or cut the skin when correctly inserted
The probe is no thicker than the hair it sits alongside. It follows the hair shaft into the follicle, a channel that already exists. There is no puncture, no injection, and no cut.
Your first session
step by step.
Before You Arrive
If you would like to numb the area before your appointment, you are welcome to apply a topical anaesthetic cream (such as EMLA) at home beforehand. We do not administer numbing in clinic. Ensure the cream is fully cleaned from the skin before your appointment begins.
When You Arrive
There is no rush. We will talk you through everything before we begin. Your comfort is the priority. Ask anything, there are no silly questions.
During Treatment
You are in complete control at all times. We stop the moment you ask, for any reason, with no questions asked. Most clients describe the sensation as a brief, mild warmth or tingling. Many find it very manageable after the first few minutes.
After Treatment
We will apply a soothing aftercare product and talk you through your aftercare advice.
A calm, predictable space,
for every kind of mind.
If you are neurodivergent, live with sensory sensitivities, or simply experience the world a little differently, you are genuinely welcome here. We adapt to you, not the other way around. Tell us what helps and what does not, and we will work with it, without fuss and without judgement.
Know exactly what to expect
We send clear, written information before your appointment, so nothing is sprung on you. The routine stays predictable, and you can ask us to explain anything as many times as you need.
A low-sensory environment
Soft lighting, a quiet room, and no strong fragrances. If certain sounds, textures, or sensations are difficult for you, let us know and we will adjust the space wherever we can.
Communicate however suits you
Prefer little or no small talk? That is completely fine. You are welcome to bring headphones, a comfort item, or a trusted person, and to send your questions ahead of time.
Breaks and control, always
You can pause or stop at any moment, with no explanation needed. Stim, fidget, or move however you need to. There is never any pressure to hurry.
"Really great experience — it can feel daunting at first but I instantly trusted her… she gives good care as well as helpful aftercare advice."
Take the first step.
We'll take care of the rest.
Your consultation is a conversation. No commitment beyond turning up.
